The majority of all Americans (61%) believe that climate change is caused mostly by human activity such as burning fossil fuels, according to a national survey from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) examining Americans’ assessments of the threats of climate change, how it affects their lives and voting behavior, and what steps they are willing to take to combat climate change, with particular focus on the impact of religion on such views.
